Trip To Washington, D.C. August 21, 2010 (24)
It's interesting, that within one generation, a kid could view this Mall with such a sense of promise and awe, and as an aging adult, to view it with such futility and anger and resignation. I can't focus my feelings on our representatives solely, I also have to lay this mismanagement at the feet of the people, who demand much in their shortsightedness, fail to hold their representatives accountable for the long-term, who abdicate a great deal of their obligations and power, and now are reaping what freedom without responsibility will grow. -
